RECEPTIONIST: May I help you with anything?
CONVENTIONEER: Hi! I was hoping to take in some sites now that my convention has finished.

RECEPTIONIST: How much time do you have on your hands?
CONVENTIONEER: Just a few days, so it'll have to be some place fairly close.

RECEPTIONIST: The day trip to Hoover Dam is popular with conventioneers.
CONVENTIONEER: What about the Grand Canyon? On the map it looks right next door.

RECEPTIONIST: It's a bit farther off than that but it would only take about an eight hour drive by car.
CONVENTIONEER: That works for me. May I see some brochures and car rental inforamtion please.

RECEPTIONIST: Please do. The car rental service is the next desk down.
CONVENTIONEER: Thanks for all your help.

Vocabulary

TAKE IN SOME SITES - the woman would like to see some things or go site seeing
TIME YOU HAVE ON YOUR HANDS - how much time do you have to spend in doing some things
FAIRLY CLOSE - somewhere not too far away
RIGHT NEXT DOOR - means very close; looks like very close to where the person is at that moment
FARTHER OFF - a little further away than that
THAT WORKS FOR ME - meaning no problem, that's okay, I can do that.
PLEASE DO - means "yes, you may", no problem
NEXT DESK DOWN - right next door
