We use may or might to say that something is a possibility.
Examples:
It may be true.
She might know.
I might be true. (=perhaps it is true)
Positive:
I + may be /might be (tired/hungry/home etc.)
He/she/it + may be/ might be(doing/coming/joking, etc.)
We/you/they + may/ might be (do/get/know/have)
Negative:
I + may not be /might not be (tired/hungry/home etc.)
He/she/it + may not be /might not be (doing/coming/joking, etc.)
We/you/they + may not be /might not be (doing/coming/joking, etc.)
Examples:
1.I wonder why she didn’t answer the phone. She may have been asleep.
2.She might not have known about it.
3.It might not be true.
4.I may not have enough.
5.I may be wrong.
